The LA Juice Craze
Like a lot of people in LA, I have fallen victim to the incredibly addicting juice craze that both impresses or annoys the crap out of persons. Because I started juicing (a phrase you can only say in LA with no sounding like you’re on steroids), I’ve had A Whole lot far more power, I’ve gotten leaner, and I’ve observed my hair and skin appear a lot healthier (more so than they already were 😉 ).
Here are a handful of of my favourite combinations (to be continued) of fruits and veggies that I would almost certainly in no way ever consume, but will juice all day long. At the end there is a quick explanation of the gains of just about every ingredient.
Apples: Vitamin C, B-Complex, Dietary Fiber, Phytonutrients, Calcium, Potassium, & Phosphorus (*One apple will give you extra vitality than a cup of coffee!)
Carrots: Vitamin A (wonderful for vision, skin, and detoxing), Beta-Carotene (**Anti-Aging**),
Beets: Betalains (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and detoxification help), Power
Kale: Vitamin K, Vitamin A, beta carotene, Calcium, and Vitamin C, dietary fiber, antioxidants, lowers cholesterol, makes your body smell good (have you ever smelled anyone who doesn’t eat greens? It’s gross).
Spinach: Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium, Vitamin A, Folate, Vitamin K, Fiber, Phosphorus, and Thiamine. (AKA tends to make you robust and cleanses your entire body.)
Lemon: Restores the body’s pH, Vitamin C, cleanses your liver and bowels (yum).
Ginger: Aids in digestion, helps make something taste better.
Cayenne Pepper: Aids in digestion, tends to make anything taste better, wakes you the f up in the morning.
Disclaimer: I could or may well not be a doctor and juicing experienced.
